The 2026 Sprudge Twenty
We are delighted to welcome you to the official announcement of The Sprudge Twenty, presented by Sprudge and Pacific Barista Series. This is the eighth class of Sprudge Twenty honorees, part of an annual tradition honoring and amplifying leaders in the global coffee community. In the coming weeks and months we’ll present interviews with each of the members of the Sprudge Twenty class of 2026—a chance to reflect on their careers, talk about goals for the future, and share what matters to them as coffee professionals in 2026.
Keep the buzz going with grapefruit juice
If you want to keep your caffeine high going but don’t want to risk having too much caffeine, grapefruit juice may just be the answer. It may help slow the absorption of caffeine by the body, essentially allowing it to stay in your body longer. Though how strong the effect is may vary from person to person.
An all black Moccamaster
The Moccamaster is a style icon in the coffee world. It comes in a number of color options to match your particular kitchen aesthetic, but never has there been an all black version. Until now. The new Moccamaster KBGT Midnight features a black brewing body and, for the first time, a matching black carafe.
Caffeine’s effect on sleep quality
It seems rather obvious that caffeine can have a negative effect on your sleep. But the impact goes beyond overall duration. A new study finds that caffeine can also affect sleep quality, keeping some from entering deeper, more restorative sleep stages.
La Marzocco is B Corp certified
There are over 250 coffee companies that have achieved B Corp certification, but none of them have been espresso machine manufacturers. But that changed recently with La Marzocco. The Italian espresso machine maker is the first of their kind to earn the designation.

Let the Building begin!
They’re here, they’re finally here! The 2026 Build-Outs of Coffee kicked off this week, featuring the first two entries for this year’s class. First up was Spirit Origin Coffee, whose stunning new do-everything space Roatán, Honduras should be on the top of everyone’s must-visit list. Then, in the States, Provis Coffee is looking to bring high-end coffees to Kansas City, Missouri, one of the nation’s most under-appreciated but still very great coffee scenes.
