The Sprudge Report - Coffee Drinks & Coffee Thinks
It's been another busy week at Sprudge HQ. We've got stories across both the Atlantic and Pacific, a host of exciting coffee drinks, and a few calls for aid. Let's dive in.
Take me back to Copenhagen
Ahhh Copenhagen, one of the best places in the world to eat and drink, and coffee is no exception. It’s been five years since our last visit to Denmark capital and a lot has changed in the coffee scene since then. So it was more than time for a trip back to see what’s new and exciting in Copenhagen.
A UK caffeine conundrum
When you’re in London grabbing a cuppa at the nearest chain cafe, you’d assume the caffeine content of the same drink would be the same from one place to the next, right? Wrong! A perfect day on the Big Island
In all honesty, it’s probably difficult to not have a good day on the island of Hawai’i, but if you are a coffee person looking for the perfect day, that may take some insider information. Luckily, Pacific Coffee Research’s Brit Horn and Madeleine Longoria-Garcia gave us their tips for how to spend a day full of coffee on the Big Island.
The Hemro Group is making waves
Lots of news this week coming out of the recently rebranded Hemro Group. From a new look for Anfim to a new grinder to a brand new headquarters space in Zurich, the Hemro Group is making moves.
A Barista Championship GoFundMe
Cajal Ruttie is the owner of DC’s Steam Valve Espresso, a current Glitter Cat, and a US Barista Championship competitor. She is also deaf. In order to compete in Denver, she’ll need to hire a Cued English translator, and so she has taken to GoFundMe to help raise the money needed to compete.
In other news

Aid for Turkey
A massive earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and western parts of Syria, killing over 10,000, injuring 50,000, and displacing over a million more. In response, coffee companies across the country are stepping up to provide aid, and you can help.
